Обязательно украшена по-своему каждая крыша, ведь дома хорошо просматриваются не только снизу, но и сверху.

Жители Стокгольма совсем не вешают шторы. Они считают, что приличные люди не заглядывают в чужие окна. Впрочем, друг от друга им нечего скрывать. Поэтому окна в домах всегда не зашторены и полностью открыты солнцу. Для защиты жилища от летней жары применяются маркизы – наружные навесы над окнами различной формы и расцветок, но всегда одинаковые для одного и того же дома.

Первое, что мы сделали после короткого автобусного обзора города – это поднялись на вершину смотровой башни Катарина Хисс.

Эта смотровая площадка возвышается над землей более чем на 30 метров. Здесь же наверху расположен ресторан «Гондола». Подниматься туда немного страшновато, но интересно. Часть лестницы проходит как бы по маленькому скверу, где обитает семейство скворцов.

Отсюда уже открывается красивый вид на город. Для тех, кто не любит ходить пешком, на башню ходит лифт, но так рано утром он еще не работал.

Переход любопытно оформлен какими-то умельцами. Особенно нам понравилась, и вызвала легкое недоумение гигантская аудиокассета и микроскопический домик с непонятными изображениями на плитках вокруг.

Сверху видно, как по мосту проходят поезда метро, и вообще открывается удивительный вид на город.

Погода в Стокгольме благоприятствовала нам. В отличие от Хельсинки, здесь нас ждало теплое солнце и синее небо, правда температура в тени была около +5̊С, зато почти не дул холодный ветер, так характерный для прибрежных регионов.

После, мы прогулялись по Старому Городу (Гамла Стан) с его фантастически узкими улочками, которые рассчитаны на то, чтобы здесь могли разъехаться два всадника на конях и с копьем наперевес. И то не все. Например, на улице  Мортена Тротцига едва могут разойтись впритирку два не слишком упитанных пешехода. Эта улица имеет ширину всего 90 см, кроме того, в средней своей части она вообще превращается в лестницу. Улица носит имя одного из богатых купцов, который когда-то жил здесь. По вечерам на этой улице зажигаются старинные газовые фонари.

Если будете в Стокгольме – обязательно посетите памятник Мальчику, смотрящему на луну. Он находится во дворике за Финской церковью. Здесь же в старом городе можно увидеть крышу дома, на котором живет Карлсон. Правда, ходят слухи, что на самом деле он жил в другом месте, но для посетителей Стокгольма экспозиция устроена именно на этой крыше.

Место не очень приметное, рассмотреть его можно, ориентируясь на памятник Святому Георгию «рубящему кактус», как о нем говорят в народе.

На самом деле, это, конечно, не кактус, просто дракон у архитектора Берна Нотке вышел уж очень шипастым. Эта бронзовая скульптура – копия старинной скульптуры, изготовленной в 1489 году из ценной древесины и позолоты и установленной в церкви Святого Николая (которая, кстати, является местом коронации Шведских королей). Эта скульптура признается самой старой скульптурой в Европе.

Здесь же, в Старом Городе, стоит Памятник Человеку в очках, Памятник Эверту Таубе одному из известных шведских композиторов, сценаристов, и актеров. Памятник лишен постамента, поэтому с ним любят фотографироваться.

Прогуливаясь по старому городу, вы обязательно выйдете на небольшую площадь, в центре которой разместился фонтан без воды, почти в каждом окне стоит белый торшер, и здесь же находится музей Нобеля, в котором представлена история жизни Альфреда Нобеля и показываются фильмы, посвящённые открытиям нобелевских лауреатов.

Поблизости есть кафе, в котором, по преданию, проводятся неформальные собрания для обсуждения нобелевских кандидатов. Узнать кафе можно по веселой скульптурной группе, расположенной над дверьми соседнего дома.

Вход в музей — больше 500 рублей на человека. Правда клубника на рынке в начале мая стоила 200 р за большой контейнер. У нас примерно так же. А в продуктовом магазине, увы, мы так и не побывали. Во всем центральном городе он нам как-то и не попался.
